Meet Rebecca Wilson, our Financial Services Program Manager at Modern Psychiatry and Wellness. Over the past five years, Rebecca has played a crucial role in our team, bringing her extensive background in mental health and developmental disabilities to help our clients navigate the complexities of insurance and billing. Let’s take a closer look at the passion and expertise Rebecca brings to Modern Psych.
What is your career and educational background?
I have spent most of my career dedicated to mental health and developmental disabilities. My role has involved assisting individuals in need and guiding them toward their goals of maintaining independent living within the community. Then I transitioned into a role that involved facilitating access to services like Medicaid and DODD waivers. Over the past several years, my focus has shifted to working with providers to ensure accurate and timely billing practices.
What is your role at Modern Psych and what does your job entail?
At Modern Psych, my role involves assisting clients in understanding the intricacies of their insurance policies. I make sure they have a clear grasp of their coverage and address any billing-related questions they may have. Additionally, we provide support to staff members with billing inquiries, helping them understand the distinctions between Medicaid, Commercial, and Medicare plans.
How would you describe the company culture of Modern Psych?
At Modern Psych, the culture is distinctly different and laid-back, setting it apart from any place I’ve worked before. I had the privilege to choose our financial team members, who all bring tremendous knowledge and drive. This not only pushes me to excel but also shapes our unique culture. Working with Dr. Moss, Susanna, and Patricia is like being on a dream team. Their guidance inspires me to be my best, fostering a sense of professionalism mixed with close-knit camaraderie which truly defines what Modern Psych is all about.
Tell us something about yourself that most people don’t know/fun fact about yourself.
I enjoy gardening and cooking dinner with my husband. I tend to be a bit of a homebody, and I really enjoy that my family and friends are down to just hang out on the deck by the pool in the summers and around the fire pit in the fall.
