What is your career and educational background?
I have a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and a master’s in clinical social work. Initially, I worked as a corrections officer, which gave me firsthand insights into the correctional system. Later, I shifted to a role at a rehabilitation center for adults battling addiction and focusing on recovery. Eventually, my career path led me to social work, where I applied my comprehensive skills and knowledge to assist diverse communities.
What is your role at Modern Psych and what does your job entail?
I serve as a Behavioral Health Clinician specializing in treating individuals with mental illnesses and co-occurring addiction issues. My role involves providing therapeutic services to help these individuals regain direction and discover their purpose in life.
What led you to work for the Modern Psych team?
I’ve been tracking Dr. Moss’s career for quite some time, even when he worked collaboratively with a partner before establishing his own practice. However, even before I knew who he was, Dr. Moss’s reputation and work preceded him. What also inspired me to pursue my career was seeing too many people receive little to no help due to bureaucracy. I wanted to be a voice for those who are typically voiceless.
How would you describe the company culture at Modern Psych?
Modern Psych is distinctively marked by a profound care and concern for others, which extends beyond the usual workplace norms. What makes working here particularly unique is the collective commitment of everyone involved. We’re all deeply invested in the success and well-being of the clients we assist.
What is your favorite part of your job?
I love engaging with clients through therapeutic interventions, focusing mainly on the micro-level, then expanding to mezzo approaches. This direct interaction, where I can see the impact of our work, is incredibly rewarding.
Tell us something about yourself that most people don’t know.
I enjoy traveling and meeting people from other parts of the world because it provides a better perspective on my life. I enjoy ballet, concerts, theater, and spending time with friends and family.
